Abstract：

The maximum absorption band of PEG of different molecular weights was researched by ultraviolet spectrophotometry.The influences of chromogenic reaction time,amount of chromogenic reagent on determination of PEG content were investigated.The optimal conditions are as follows:amounts of acetic acid-sodium acetate buffer solution and dragendoff reagent are 1mLand 1mL respectively;chromogenic reaction time is 840-1200s; the maximum absorption wave of PEG(6000、10000、12000、) is 510nm.
