Abstract: |
modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (S-MWNTs) whose surfaces were grafted with sulfonic acid groups were synthesized, sulfonatedpoly(ether ether ketone)/S-MWNTs composite membranes for application in the direct methanol fuel cell(DMFC) were prepared by solution blending technique. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) showed S-MWNTs were uniformly dispersed in the composite membrane when the doping content was small. The excellent thermal resistance were proved by thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA). When the doping content was 1 wt%, the mechanical properties, dimensional stability and proton conductivity were all improved, which effectively solves contradictory problems of pureSPEEKmembranebetween proton conductivity and the other properties of proton exchange membrane such as mechanical properties, dimensional stability, thermal resistance.
