Abstract: |
In this paper, PVC-P(VC-VAC)-MBS flat and hollow fiber ultrafiltration (UF) membranes were prepared by non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS). With the changes of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer [P(VC-VAC)] content, the mechanical and hydrophilic properties, water flux and rejection rate were investigated. Then, methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene copolymer (MBS) were added in the dope solution, their impacts on the mechanical properties of PVC flat membrane were examined. The experimental results show that: the best performance can be get when the P(VC-VAC) content is 4%. The pure water flux was increased from 42.5 L/(m2•h•0.1MPa) to 155 L/(m2•h•0.1MPa). At the same time, the mechanical properties of the membranes were significantly enhanced. P(VC-VAC) and MBS are excellent modified material. They could significantly improve the hydrophilic and mechanical properties of the PVC membrane. |
