Abstract: |
The effects of operating conditions (feeding temperature, hot and cold side flow) on flux and thermal efficiency was performed. Heat and mass transfer model of direct-contact membrane distillation (DCMD) based on hollow fiber membrane was use to analyze the mechanism. The results showed that the flux increased with the increase of feed temperature, hot and cold side flow, which greatly increased the vapor pressure difference across membrane and mass transfer driving force, but had limit effect on mass transfer coefficient. The increase of feed temperature and hot side flow and the decrease of cold side flow helped to improve the thermal efficiency for higher average membrane temperature. |
