Abstract: |
Forward osmosis (FO) membranes have unique merits enabling separation application, and it is of great significance to develop highly stable novel forward osmosis membrane. Herein, we propose a new membrane fabrication strategy by combining in situ nano-seeding with secondary growth to fabricate well-intergrown highly stable ceramic-based metal organic framework MOF-801 nano-porous membrane. Then forward osmosis performance was preliminarily investigated. The as-prepared ceramic-based MOF-801 membrane showed not only high water flux (13.9 L/m2·h), but also low specific salt flux (0.61 g/L) in forward osmosis mode. Moreover, MOF-801 membrane exhibited stable flux during continuous operation. This work proposes a new protocol to fabricate inorganic forward osmosis membranes with promising application performance. |
